Dubai: Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower), the world's largest district cooling services provider, announced that it has enhanced the capability of its Command Control Centre (CCC) for district cooling plants by establishing a new system, ‘Parallel Working environment (PWE)’. All the 75 plant rooms of Empower across Dubai are currently connected to and controlled by its centrally located, state-of-the-art ‘Command Control Center (CCC)’ and the operations team is closely monitoring the cooling plants. The new system will be a redundant system of CCC by way of having an alternate remote operation of the plants. EMPOWER explained that this is part of it’s strategy to ensure business continuity through having continuous and close visibility of DC plant operations.
Empower’s Command Control Center is having a capacity of handling up to one million data parameters related to cooling towers, coolers, transformers, water supply and others using the advanced SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) system. The Centre functions through an advanced, high-performance smart network that helps to respond to any eventuality in plant operations with precise and quicker responses. The new alternative system is a completely independent setup equipped with the latest and advanced technologies, providing all of the facilities of Command Control Center in a self-governing way.
