Strategic Thermal Energy Engineering Study

Solicitation Number:  RFP21-01

Summary:  The focus of this Strategic Thermal Energy Study will be on Scope 1 emissions resulting from the combustion of fossil fuels on Grounds associated with the generation, distribution, and use of thermal energy. This scope includes both district energy plant and building-level generation and use. It is anticipated that once complete, this STES will provide the following deliverables:

• A Thermal Energy Strategic Framework Plan that will inform and guide the University’s work to become fossil fuel free by 2050.
• A Thermal Energy Fossil Fuel Action Plan 2020-2030 that will enable the University to (1) accelerate progress towards eliminating the use of fossil fuels and (2) mitigate Scope I carbon emissions.
