The University of Liverpool aims to become net zero by 2035 – 15 years ahead of the Government’s legal commitment of 2050.

Measures include retrofitting of buildings with energy efficiency measures, a plan to decarbonise energy supply, introducing ‘Sustainability Champions’ and exploring external funding opportunities for climate research.

The university plans to develop a Living Lab to utilize its world class research capability and test innovative solutions to climate change. The University of Liverpool operates a combined heat and power building.
