RFP/Q District Energy Masterplan: San Jose State University

San Jose State University (SJSU) is requesting qualifications and proposals from experienced district energy teams (Respondent) with expertise and a successful track record developing decarbonized, resilient District Energy Master Plans inclusive of South Campus.  This Master Plan will inform and position the campus district energy system to support the Campus Master Plan and campus owned parcels three to four blocks to the West while maintaining compliance with Federal, State, and local, California State University (CSU), and other authorities having jurisdiction requirements.  

This Request for Qualifications and Proposals (RFQ/P) is intended to identify qualified Respondents and award a consultant agreement to create a District Energy Master Plan as described herein. 

The District Energy Master Plan Project (Project) consists of the creation of a district energy master plan that will provide a phased, cost-effective road map to creatively fund and transition the campus to a decarbonized resilient district energy system. This Project is intended to be a model for urban universities and their surrounding communities to support abundant and resilient campus and urban life.

SJSU’s main campus is, primarily, located in downtown San Josè between 4th Street, 10th Street and E. San Fernando and E. San Salvador Streets.  SJSU’s South Campus is approximately 1.5 miles south of campus and is the location of SJSU’s athletic facilities.
