Director of Business Development

Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Business Development, the Director is accountable for building on a broad existing contact base and identifying new opportunities for consistent and profitable growth in the Seattle market and surrounding area.

The successful candidate is expected to bring a creative, collaborative, relational and a proactive sales approach to the Seattle market. The ideal candidate must have a willingness to listen and learn, drive to continuously improve, and is team-centric with strong integrity.

We are looking for someone who is a self-starter that enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, has strong relationships in the Seattle community, is sales oriented with a high sense of ownership in their work, possesses a high degree of intellectual curiosity, and has a superior business development foundation.  

This is an in-office position located in downtown Seattle.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will work with the SVP of Business Development, General Manager, Technical Account Manager, project engineers, and management team to develop opportunities and relationships to negotiate and execute long term energy service agreements. In addition, the Director of Business Development will be accountable for:

  • Advocating for the state and city goals of decarbonization and electrification
  • Developing go-to-market strategies to reach key prospective customer targets
  • Sourcing new sales leads and project opportunities
  • Securing a consistent and recognizable presence in the Seattle business community to establish and grow the CenTrio brand
  • Establishing relationships with existing customers
  • Developing and delivering proposals, presentations, term sheets, and deal memos.
  • Closing new business through commercial and legal negotiations.
  • Developing, administering, and maintaining Customer Account Management Plans for key and strategic customers.
  • Providing weekly/monthly/quarterly sales reports.
  • Other growth and customer service-related activities that may be identified to aid in reaching company goals.

Relationships (internal/external)

The Director of Business Development will focus on building strong working relationships with all respective operating groups within the company and with external stakeholder groups, including but not limited to:

·         All levels of government and relevant Agencies, Boards and Commissions that impact the business of CenTrio.

·         Seattle’s existing customer base.

·         The City of Seattle – Permitting, Planning, Sustainability Offices

·         Local contractors, equipment suppliers, architects, and engineering firms.

·         International District Energy Association (“IDEA”).

·         Local and national trade organizations that share similar interests and values with CenTrio
