Eaton helps deployment of 150 MWh of BESS in New York

Eaton said on Tuesday that it has been selected by US energy infrastructure solutions provider Endurant Energy to help it deploy over 150 MWh of battery energy storage systems (BESS) across the Bronx and Staten Island boroughs in New York City.

The partnership encompasses 10 energy storage projects, valued at more than USD 7 million (EUR 6.50m), that will support buildings and the grid during peak demand hours, according to a press statement.

Eaton has been tapped to help in the design of the BESS facilities and the provision of power system studies and equipment such as switchgear, switchboards and transformers.

Endurant is a distributed energy infrastructure developer with a focus on providing engineering, procurement and construction (EPC), as well as operations and maintenance (O&M) services for geothermal, combined heat and power (CHP), fuel cell, solar and storage technologies.
