The Commercial and Industrial (C&I) Carbon Challenge program will provide up to $10 million in funding, with individual awards ranging from $500,000 to $3.75 million, to large commercial and industrial entities or emission reduction solutions providers to implement clean energy actions that reduce carbon emissions.
Projects can include energy efficiency or process efficiency measures, on-site generation, battery storage, beneficial electrification, carbon capture, or other proven efficiency or renewable energy technologies. Applications will be evaluated in two categories:
Proposals may qualify under one of the two following categories:
• Category A – Applications submitted by a commercial or industrial entity for projects at a single site or multiple sites in New York State.
• Category B – Applications submitted by a service or solutions provider that will implement greenhouse gas reduction projects at their customer’s commercial or industrial sites in New York State.
