Summary

Guam hosts critical US military missions whose energy systems face unique challenges. In addition to the harsh conditions, unreliable utility, and remote location, JRM’s importance to national security places additional requirements on the security of their supply.
This presentation will cover how these challenges were overcome in the development of a resilient and net-zero capable energy strategy which includes optimizing the synergies between SWAC-ready district cooling systems and microgrids leveraging utility-scale PV and storage systems.
