District Energy Helps Cities Reach Net Zero

Session Abstract

Vicinity will outline its approach to collaborating with the City of Cambridge, MA to move efficiently towards achieving their aggressive net-zero goals. Vicinity will cover how low-carbon district energy can help buildings reach net-zero, earn LEED points, build resiliency to climate change with district redundancy and expedited restoration, reduce electric peaks using steam cooling and capture water waste. Vicinity will cover Cambridge’s district energy decarbonization strategies, including electrification, biofuels and energy storage.
