Session Abstract

Caltech completed a Utility Master Plan with a goal of meeting campus energy requirements in an economical manner while remaining sensitive to environmental concerns, reducing risk, and addressing reliability and adaptability.

Models of the campus chilled water system and improvements showed significant potential energy savings over the life of the study.  Resulting chilled water system strategies and modeling are presented along with initial system improvement projects at two chilled water plants.
