UT Austin – Reducing Energy Consumption Even With 20% Campus Growth

10-25-2023 13:29

Session Abstract

To meet Campus growth, the University of Texas at Austin has found that it’s far more economical to be more efficient rather than invest in new power production capacity. Over the last 10 years, UT has achieved what seems impossible: reducing the chilled water system’s overall energy usage even as the campus grew by 20%.  This presentation will detail the energy efficiency and Thermal Energy Storage (TES) measures implemented and their respective results.
