As Energy Administration Specialist at Western Michigan University, I develop, implement, and evaluate energy management programs that reduce the university's environmental impact and operational costs. I collaborate with various stakeholders, such as faculty, staff, students, and vendors, to identify and implement energy efficiency and conservation measures, monitor and analyze energy consumption and performance data, and prepare and present reports and recommendations.
I am passionate about overcoming climate and energy challenges in the Midwest, and I have a strong background and education in this field. I hold Master's degrees in Public Affairs and Environmental Science from Indiana University Bloomington, where I also worked as a Resilience Analyst at the Environmental Resilience Institute. There, I helped Indiana's cities, towns, and counties pursue climate resilience by conducting research, providing technical assistance, and developing tools and resources.
Following that, I worked as a Climate Action Officer in the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy, where I contributed to the development and implementation of the MI Healthy Climate Plan, a statewide strategy to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to reach carbon neutrality by 2050 and avert the worst impacts of climate change.
